About

North Farmcote is a working family farm producing sheep and cereals. It is situated high on the Cotswold escarpment in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The house was built around 1840 as a dower house for Lord Sudeley’s mother.

It has a flagstone hall entrance leading to comfortable spacious accommodation upstairs.

There is a double en suite/family room, twin en-suite and twin with private bathroom. The rooms are non-smoking and equipped with television, radio, hairdryer and hospitality tray.

The house is surrounded by a large garden where guests can have afternoon tea on the terrace in the summer and enjoy the views across to the Malvern Hills and Welsh mountains beyond.

Farmcote is well situated for walking, with the Cotswold Way crossing the farm. In the immediate vicinity there are lovely country walks, some of which can take in a pub or two.

Nearby is the Cotswold Farm Park at Temple Guiting, the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway at Toddington, historic Sudeley Castle at Winchcombe, Prescott Hill Climb for motor enthusiasts and England’s highest fountain at Stanway. There are good country pubs nearby.

Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Cheltenham are all within a half-hour’s drive, with Stratford, Oxford and Bath only an hour away.

We can also provide recreational facilities such as:

    Kilmorie Smallholding

    About

    ‘Kilmorie’ is a Grade II listed chartist smallholding (small farm), modernised and extended now provides cosy, but deceptively spacious ALL GROUND FLOOR ACCOMMODATION.

    Built by Fergus O’Connor, founder of the chartist land company, Kilmorie has an interesting history and is in a conservation area.

    Rural, but easy to find on the A417 Gloucester to Ledbury road.

    Quality ALL GROUND FLOOR accommodation. All bedrooms have en-suite or private facilities; tea/coffee trays, colour digital tv’s, clock radios.

    There is a guest lounge with colour digital TV, video and DVD, separate dining room looking out onto our large garden where there are seats to sit and relax. There is also plenty of well off road parking.

    Ideal for the elderly or less able, being all ground floor, there are no stairs only two steps into the dining room and one into one of the bedrooms.

    Ideally situated for many places of interest – beautiful scenery of: the Cotswolds, the Malvern Hills, Royal Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. There are four castles, falconry centre, farm parks, many museums, and four rivers.

    Towns of Newent 6 miles, Tewkesbury (with River Avon and River Severn) 7 miles, olde worlde town of Ledbury 8 miles, Cheltenham and Great Malvern both 14 miles. Cities of Gloucester 7 miles, Hereford and Worcester both 22 miles. So, so much within an easy drive from here! Network of ‘way marked’ footpaths across farmland and alongside a stream actually start at ‘Kilmorie’.

    Children (or adults!) may enjoy meeting (or helping with) our sheep, and free range hens. All our animals are naturally fed and roam freely.

        About

        Manor Farm is a beautiful C17th Cotswold Stone Farmhouse set in the middle of the village of Weston Sub-Edge. We farm 600 acres which consist of Pedigree Charollais Cattle and calving time is March through to the middle of April – with a few stragglers on at the end!

        The lambing season also starts in March til the end of April or so we hope!

        So a very busy time on the Farm… as my husband also spends a lot of this time on a Tractor!

        We also have Racehorses on the Farm and they begin racing from January through to hopefully end of May – for those of you wanting to ride we can arrange with a local Riding Stables!

        Although we are situated in the North of the Cotswolds, this means we are in the enviable situation of being very close to all of the major Tourist Attractions in ‘The Cotswolds’.

        Broadway – 7 minutes by car
        Stow on the Wold – 15 mins by car
        Oxford/Blenheim Palace – under 1 hr. by car
        Bourton on the Water – 25 mins by car
        Stratford upon Avon – 15 mins by car

        We have 2 king en-suite rooms and a twin en-suite room with modern bathrooms and the all important Power Showers!

        To set you up for the all important days sightseeing there is the Traditional Manor Farm Breakfast which means that you can skip lunch!

        For all stays of 3 nights or longer we give you a Free Farm Tour from the comfort of our Landrover Discovery where my husband ‘Pup’ will give you a very entertaining tour of the village and farm which you will not forget in a hurry and will probably be the highlight of your trip to ‘The Cotswolds’!!

        For those who stay a night or two we also try our hardest to fit in a tour for you!

        We also have free Internet Access for checking Emails whilst you are away and Maps/Guides are also available with a comprehensive folder on what to do/where to go!! We can also reserve a table for you at local restaurants/book Horseriding/Golf etc.

          Absolutely superb situation with magnificent scenery, this impressive mellow stone Cotswold farmhouse offers cosy, comfortable, well equipped and spacious accommodation.

          Bedrooms are en suite or with private facilities, TV’s, beverages, armchairs and many other homely extras.

          There is a beautiful guest lounge, attractive dining room and a large well tended garden to relax in and enjoy the views across the countryside towards Winchcombe.

          The farm itself is just south of Winchcombe. You approach it down a half mile tree-lined drive from the tiny Hamlet of Postlip with its 14th century Manor House and Tythe Barn. Absolute peace and quiet are guaranteed, yet we are less than five minutes from Winchcombe, in itself a beautiful yet unspoilt small cotswold town.

          Sudeley Castle, reputed to be one of the finest small Castles in the country, is only five minutes away on the edge of Winchcombe. There are numerous eating places in the locality, all serving great food. We are very centrally placed for visiting all that the Cotswolds have to offer. Stanway, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and The Slaughters are just a few of the villages close by.

          Further afield and to the north we have Stratford upon Avon and then on to the medieval castle of Warwick, only a 50 minute drive away.

          To the east lies Blenheim Palace the home of the late Winston Churchill and now the home of the present Duke and Duchess of Marlborough. Both this and Warwick Castle give two terrific days of sightseeing.

          To the south we have the lovely town of Cheltenham, noted for its beautiful regency buildings and great shops. Further on is Bath, another city noted for its Georgian architecture, and Roman baths.

          To the west lies Tewkesbury with its Abbey and ancient alleyways and beyond that the Malvern Hills. The whole area has to be one of the most scenic in England.

          ostlip is very much a family farm, run by sons Richard and Edward. The Farmhouse B&B side is also a family affair with myself (Valerie) and Richard and Edward also taking a very active part.

          We have excellent off road parking and guests are welcome to walk around the farm, lambing time is between February and April and is always popular with the visitors.

          Sheep and a Beef suckler herd graze the surrounding pastures which slope up to the top of Cleeve Hill. Also adjacent to the farm are 2000 acres of ancient common land, giving superb walking and also boasting the local 18 hole Golf Course. Horse riding is also very close at hand, all through fields and woods (no roads).

          Good traditional english breakfasts are served with plenty of atmosphere.

          We look forward to meeting our visitors from all over the world as well as the United Kingdom and judging from the number of repeat booking and recommendations, we feel that guests must have thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Postlip Hall Farm. Why not come and try for yourselves?
