A converted barn, set in the historic Saxon village of Deerhurst, on the banks of the River Severn. This cottage provides modern living with an open plan ground floor and two en suite bedrooms upstairs. This tranquil spot is great for exploring the Cotswolds, Malverns and Forest Of Dean.

The cottage was part of a former stable block dating back 300 years. It is Grade One listed as it is within feet of the Church. This is one of the oldest Saxon Churches in the country, and has a host of Saxon workmanship on show inside and outside of the building. Deerhurst is also host to another Saxon building Odda’s Chapel which is now owned by English Heritage.

The Cottage has been thoughtfully restored, leaving all the structural beams and the craftsmanship used to construct this building 300 years ago.

All the floors are oak throughout, and the cottage is heated with under floor heating. The downstairs comprises of an open plan living and eating area with a fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge and freezer, cooker and hob, microwave and toaster.

The Living area has two large sofas and a 32” TV with DVD player and stereo. WiFi is available but is not super fast yet !

The wooden staircase leads up to two en suite bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a large room with a King Size bed and a French windows looking over the courtyard to the fields beyond.

Bedroom 2 is a twin bedded room, with an en suite shower room, including toilet and sink.
Towels and bed linen are provided.

Both bedrooms have TV’s, hair dryers and wardrobes , extra blankets and pillows are also available.
The cottage has pictures hanging from local artists, which are available to purchase.

For small children, a travel cot and high chair are available on request.

There is a large seating area outside the cottage, which has comfortable outdoor table & chairs and outdoor sofa to relax in, for those balmy summer evenings. A gas BBQ is situated in this area.

Dogs accepted, by arrangement please.

We are a working arable farm and this means that there may be some agricultural machinery noise during your stay, but this is kept to a minimum due to the location of the cottage.

We have Gloucestershire Old Spot Pigs, which we exhibit at local agricultural shows and also produce our own sausages -“ Bridget’s Bangers”, available to buy during your stay.

We also keep Free Range hens who keep us supplied in real fresh eggs.

Children are welcome to feed and collect the eggs, and talk to the pigs, but they must be under adult supervision at all times.

What to do:

We are 3 miles from Tewkesbury, 7 miles from Cheltenham and 8 miles from Gloucester. All have very different and interesting visitor attractions, from Gloucester Cathedral, to all the Cheltenham Festivals and the Tudor buildings of Tewkesbury not forgetting its famous mustard.

This is a great location for walking, follow the River Severn to Tewkesbury or follow the Apple Walk set up in our Parish of Deerhurst for people to walk.

The Cotswolds are a 40 minute drive away with many famous villages and attractions to visit.

The Forest of Dean, is also about 40 minutes away and offers fantastic walks and cycling, including the Sculpture trail and other natural features such as Puzzlewood and Clearwell Caves.

The Malvern Hills are only 25 minutes away, with great walking along the length of them. You are also able to visit the natural springs/wells which made Malvern famous for its water. Malvern is also host to the Three Counties Showground, which hosts many shows over the year, but its highlights are the RHS Malvern Spring Festival in May, The Royal Three Counties Agricultural Show in June and The Malvern Autumn
